Case Study

Bringing Plant Operations Data Into One Smart Factory Platform

Customer :

Schneider Electric

Domain :

Smart Factory / Plant Operations

Schneider Electric saw growing customer demand for a single dashboard where plant teams could monitor operations without jumping between multiple systems. The idea was exciting, but building a product around it was far from simple. Different factory systems had to work together, data had to make sense in one place, and the entire platform needed to be ready in less than a year.

Customer Challenge

  • Plant data lived across multiple systems, making it difficult for teams to get one clear operational view
  • Different machines and software platforms generated data in different formats that needed to be connected and organized
  • The platform had to support configurable dashboards so different users could view what mattered to them most

What We Did

  • Worked closely with Schneider’s team to build the platform from the ground up
  • Connected multiple plant systems and created a centralized data layer for dashboards and analysis
  • Built configurable workflows and dashboards while making sure the product met strict security requirements

Impact

  • Delivered a working smart factory platform in under 18 months
  • Made plant operations data easier to access and understand through a single dashboard experience
  • Helped create a scalable product that opened up new opportunities across Schneider’s industrial software offerings

Building a Self-Service Platform for Power Plant Operations

Customer :

GE

Domain :

Smart Factory / Power Plant Operations

GE’s Aero-Derivatives division wanted to improve how power plant customers interacted with turbine data after deployment. The problem was simple: customers had no easy way to monitor equipment, collaborate around issues, or stay informed about plant performance. The experience around after-sales support needed to become far more digital and connected.

Customer Challenge

  • Power plant users had limited visibility into equipment performance and operational data
  • There was no centralized platform for teams to collaborate around turbine-related insights and alerts
  • GE needed a modern, scalable application that could improve customer engagement around plant operations

What We Did

  • Built a web-based platform from the ground up for monitoring and collaboration around industrial equipment data
  • Developed features that allowed users to view charts, receive notifications, follow updates, and interact with operational insights
  • Worked with a distributed onshore-offshore engineering team to deliver the platform within a 12-month timeline

Impact

  • Improved the after-sales experience by giving customers a more connected and interactive way to monitor equipment
  • Helped plant users respond faster to operational issues through alerts, advisories, and shared visibility
  • The platform was so well received that GE extended the framework into additional follow-on applications

Testimonials

“I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the great demo of C&E. The demo not only showcased new capabilities implemented as part of the feature but also impressed by showing preview feature functionality which is really a ask by GEM for HMI Workflow. This will really help us to show case and get the requirements for HMI Workflow. Great work team!.”

Building a Visualization Tool for Real-World Asset Monitoring

Customer :

Kelvin

Domain :

Oil & Gas (Smart Sensors / Industrial AI)

Kelvin was building a next-generation AI platform for control systems, impressive work, but they hit a common wall: they needed a working visualization layer for a real customer pilot, and their team simply didn’t have the bandwidth to take it on alongside everything else already going on.

  • Their engineering team was stretched thin, making it tough to take on a new visualization workstream without something else slipping
  • Requirements hadn’t been fully fleshed out yet, which made it hard to know where to even begin
  • A working UI was needed quickly for a pilot engagement, waiting wasn’t really an option

What We Did

  • Put together a small, focused team with UI/UX and frontend expertise, working shoulder-to-shoulder with Kelvin’s people
  • Took the wheel on shaping the UI from the ground up, turning lightweight, evolving inputs into real screens and interactions
  • Built the visualization tool and wired it into Kelvin’s platform so it could actually talk to their systems with live data flowing in both directions

Impact

  • Got a working visualization tool out the door in under 6 months, giving Kelvin what they needed to move forward with a live pilot
  • Took the pressure off their internal team by owning design, development, and integration end-to-end
  • Helped put the use case in front of real users, building a solid foundation for what comes next

Testimonials

WonderBiz quickly assembled a skilled team to support our Oil & Gas Pilot Application, taking on UI design, development, and deployment through our internal platform APIs, all of which were new to them. Working from lightweight specifications, they followed a methodical approach and delivered an MVP UI that seamlessly interfaced with the Kelvin platform. What stood out most was their communication, which was transparent, proactive, and always clear about what they needed and who to reach out to. Their ability to spin up a capable team with minimal handholding drove a successful application trial with our client and set us up for a strong project ahead. I’d recommend WonderBiz to anyone looking for conscientious, quality software talent.
